Basic Grey Creations

I had these layouts and card posted over at Basic Grey blog a while back and thought it's about time to share what I have created.

This layout was created using the beautiful Lil Black Dress. You can refer to the tutorial HERE

These Kissing Booth projects are featured at the BG blog HERE if you wanna know more details. They were created for One collection: Two Projects series.

Recently, I have just shared the Cupid series and this is what I have designed using the Kissing Booth + Curio collection for the blog HERE :)

A lil scrappy info:
For this layout and card above, there were two elements that inspired me – Chinese New Year & the chevron pattern. As I am from a mixed parentage, Chinese New Year is a celebration that is very dear to my heart and that we have just celebrated in the last 2 weeks. I love the red and the patchwork look. In the Curio collection, it has a bird and flowers that looked very much like chinese elements. I knew that the Kissing Booth collection would go very well with Curio. In the Kissing Booth collection, it has all the small pretty flowers and pink shades that fit perfectly with the red in Curio. Not forgetting the die-cuts are just so easy to use. I am so glad that the two collections went so well together.

Thanks for coming by and shall take time to update on my Bali trip next!

Amour

How time flies! After celebrating the Chinese New Year, the next celebration is Valentine's Day. It's time for the shabby, romantic & love theme. What better way to scrap using Donna's product that has a lot of romantic look to it.

Photobucket

I am gonna show you how I created this layout just by using the above piece of 8x8 paper in the 'Spring In Bloom' collection.

Photobucket
Cut all the pieces out.

Photobucket
Then use Donna's stamp 'Rose' and stamp all around the artistic paper.

Photobucket
Next, smooch some spritz randomly on the paper and stamp using the 'branch' stamp.

Photobucket
Then, I used one of the Spellbinders die-cut to do masking / stenciling by using Donna's Mix'd Media Inx.

Photobucket
Here's the result.

Photobucket
If you do not like the colors to be too bold, you can always use a wet tissue to wipe gently to create a subtle look.
Photobucket
I have also used the nix to paint the W2S chipboard. Paint 2 or 3 coats to get the desired color.
Photobucket
Lastly, once I am done with  the layout. I stencil the edges using one of the die-cut.

Here's the completed layout...

Studio Calico CHAllenge + Nook Feb Reveal!

Last weekend, I joined the CHAllenge over at the Studio Calico. The DTs came out with very fun challenges and I had so much fun doing it but didn't manage to complete all because I some other work to take care of. I am still happy that I managed to submit 6 layouts with what I have created in about 3 days! Big pat on the shoulder. Lol.

I submitted both of these layouts for Jen's Layering CHAllenge!

This was created for Scrappin Studio for the Monthly Inspirations Challenge Board and I thought it would be fun to submit  for Lisa's CHAllenge! I used different size of toilet rolls to use as mask & mist. That's how I created the circles/bubbles in this case :)

Created for Davinie's stitching challenge. Not good at stitching but I tried! :p

Created for Stephanie's Doily Challenge & Nik's Journaling Spot challenge .
Misted a big doily in the middle but can't really be seen in the photos :) For the journaling spot/card, I used the Smash product.
Created for Stephanie's doily challenge & Laura's Journaling challenge.
Well that's a whole lot I have created in a few days which after that I took a long break till now. BUT I will start creating starting tomorrow onwards... that's for sure!

New Toy for Big Girl!

Yesterday I received a mail notice that I got to collect two items from the post office. And I got a special note that one of them is a BIG box. I was so excited when I saw the words "BIG BOX" but sadly the notice came late, the post office is closed :(

TODAY after my work, I rushed to the post office to collect the items. Guess what... my Sillhouette CAMEO has arrived ... woots!! I bought it at Studio Calico and it was on free shipping because I made a purchase above USD99. It took 13 days to reach me and that was darn fast if you ask me!

Well, it took me a while to decide but after seeing all the craze at Instagram, I couldn't resist it anymore. There are tons of enabler in Instagram I tell ya ... lol.

... and also a box of October Afternoon Farmhouse collection. It was indeed  "Happy Mail" day for me!!

The minute I reached home, I opened the box and started to play with my new toy...
Here's the first cut... it was so pretty!! I didn't want it to stop so I continued...

I went to the Silhouette online store to get more... it was a pure paradise in that store!! Silhouette has a sale couple days back and took the plunge to subscribe to the online store. I paid for the basic sub $7.50/month for the next 12 months for a $25 store credit. Amazing. Actual cost was $9.99 but it was on 25% off. It was a good deal for sure!!

Here's the result of all the lovelies I cut!! Beautiful eh?!

Today is also art day for my students in my class. This week we learnt about "My Family" and I got them to do thumb printing drawings. Oh boy... I have a bunch of creative students!

Cute lil hands! Part of my Feb-Photo-A-Day. Are you doing it too?
Here are the samples why they rock their drawings!! So adorable and so creative!! I love them all :)
Love them to bits... definitely put a smile on my face.

It has been an awesome day for me and time to cut more!! It's so addictive!
Will be back soon lovelies...

A layout for Constantine

I so heart this add-on kit called "Kissing Booth" that I had to create another layout. This time I scrapped about my cute nephew, Constantine. He lost his mom before he turned a year old. He is now 6-year-old. It breaks my heart to see him growing up without a mum. But he is doing well in school and a very happy boy. I really hope that he will grow up and do his mum proud. Always get teary thinking bout this lil nephew of mine :)

Photobucket
Isn't he a cutie?! I will try my best to keep his memories on behalf of his mum and my brother :)

This will be my final layout for Scrappin Studio. It has been an enjoyable ride for a year. Thank you Jaime for believing in me for a year and all the awesome opportunity that you have given me. I learnt to love & appreciate SC kits more. Seriously, if you are planning to get SC kits, you should subscribe from Scrappin Studio because they arrive darn fast :)
