School holidays but not for me :(

Well it's school holidays this week but it's not for me because I have to work to replace the extra classes for Sept & Nov. We're closing for a week for Hari Raya in September & after the school concert in November, it'll be our year-end holidays. So better replace all the classes in advance :)

This coming Saturday (Aug 29th), I will be conducting Mini Workshop on Paint & Mist @ Papier Love. If you are interested for more details, please refer to the poster below. I am sure the friendly Papier staffs will be able to attend your queries too. Ring them up :)

P/s: Please bring 3 photos of 2x3 inches in size.
Hope to see you there!

I'm leaving on the jet plane...

Well, it's not really on a jet plane... LOL!! I'll be flying with Air Asia to Penang. Waiting for Mr. Cabby now. Not too bad for a budget airline, just that the time always changed/delayed. I am supposed to reach Penang at 4pm but the plane is delayed to 8pm. Sigh. Anyway, you get what you pay for. Nuff said :)

My whole intention to Penang is to jump-start craft & scrapbooking classes for my dear friend, Karen Hughes. She has been a very close friend to Eric & I. I do hope that there will be more Penang-nites venturing into scrapbooking in the near future *winks*

I'm gonna miss you guys and will be back on Monday. I'm leaving you with an altered key holder I made. It took me four, nearly five hours to complete this but it's all worth it!!

Happy scrapping & thanks for dropping by!

I know I promised ...

I mentioned that I will show you the next canvas on Tuesday but I failed to do so. Simply because I was so tied up with the preparation of my craft classes coming up at The Centre, Penang this weekend. Gosh it's been a very busy day for me yesterday and thanks to my 2 close scrapper friends, Michelle & Agnes who helped me out. They allowed me to use their precious "toys" to prepare my classes. Thanks friends!! Hugs!

So without further a due, here's my much-loved canvas. Got the inspiration from Maya Road chipboard frames. I love the pearl trims too much that I have to include them on the canvas. Thus, I decided to make them look like pendants. I really love our "Family Jewels" :)

Oh yeah, here's the LCOM Monday Card Challenge I did! Hope you can join us too :)

Hello friends!!

Well it has been an interesting week for me here :) Something good and bad happened, c'est la vie I guess! Firstly I deleted lots of photos without realizing it, got to know it only after a week when my asst teacher asked me bout photos I captured during the school party. What a bummer! Then, my wireless died on us but got that fixed. These days, you can't live without a wireless router!! Plus been so busy planning for the Aloha Party, so that sums up my absentee on the blog :)

But on the brighter side, I managed to play with 2 canvases and I am loving it!! Now I totally understand why canvases are such fun projects to do, it took me that long to realize. Sigh! I've seen Michelle's work on canvas but never struck my mind to do it till last week.

I brought my canvases to showcase it at Papier's Aloha Party yesterday for meet the RD & DT session. It was definitely an awesome party!! I was also happy to see the positive respond and feedback from the fellow scrappers. It really encourages me to do more. DH promised me that he will hang them up on the craft room wall. And that double-encourages me for sure!! I'll be showing you only one canvas today and stay tune for more tomorrow :)

Oh yeah leaving you with a sneak peek of my card I just completed for LCOM Monday Card Challenge, will also reveal it tomorrow...

Jenn's Piecing Challenge

It's another card challenge time from LCOM. This time round it is by Jenn. She wants you to incorporate paper piecing into your card. It can be the entire card, or and element of your card.

That little birdie card is done by yours truly. It's a simple one but I had fun cutting and piecing them together. So wait no more, get your paper piecing ready and leave us a link HERE!

London Bridge Is Falling Down!!

I grew up listening to this nursery rhyme and now I have the opportunity to teach my students to sing & play along with the rhyme. I really missed my childhood, my mum made it an interesting one for me. I still remember vividly how she would create cartoon characters just by using clay. She once made us Smurfs with just using clay. Not only those cute-bluey-smurfs, she also modeled the mushroom houses, table and stools for us to admire. She was genius!! I adored her creativity and determination to make us happy whenever my brother & I came back from kindergarten. It was a very memorable one for me! I truly missed her :(

Have fun looking at all those fun pictures I captured...

Arty Fishy

Here are some photos of art session last week, I got my students to make little-arty-fishies and I love what they did. Got this inspiration when I read the "Rainbow Fish" story to my students during story time. It was a very simple arty piece but the joy on their faces were priceless!! I also taught them a fishy song I stumbled upon on the internet. They learnt it so fast! Their brains were like sponges, within minutes they learnt & memorized the song. Awesome isn't it?

Teacher Farah, my other assistant teacher
was doing reading session with the children.
She is helpful, kind & such an awesome teacherl!!

Here's how the song goes:
(Tune of I'm a little teapot)

I'm a little fishy
I can swim
Here is my tail & here is my fin
When I want to have fun with my friends
I wiggle my tail & dive right in

That's all for today, stay tune for tomorrow's post...

SIL & LCOM

Alrighty here are the challenges that are going on at Scrap-It-Lah challenge blog & a card challenge over at

First off here is my layout for SIL August Challenge. This time we are having Irene Tan aka Scrapperlicious as our Guest Designer. The requirement is simple, all you need to do is to sew on your layout. It can be hand-stitch or by using your sewing machine.

Here's Darlene Card Challenge over at LCOM blog.
And coincidentally you need to do stitching or sewing on the card too.
I had alot of fun sewing and stitching this weekend. Hope you can join the fun too!

This card I also made specially for my
asst teacher's birthday, Teacher Nani.

Sea Creatures

Last week, we learnt about sea creatures and here are some photos I managed to capture. We can't bring the kids to the deep blue sea but our kind and thoughful principal, Teacher Alia brought 'sea creatures' to school. She purposely went to the beach with her family to collect the creatures. We had baby crabs, hermit crabs and shells. A couple of the students were very brave to touch the sea creatures and as usual they were curious to see the hermit crab coming out from the shell. It was a fun learning experience :)

One of the K2 student was jotting
down spelling to learn at home.
