Sketchabilities Sketch # 13

Gosh, how time flies!! It has been 3 months I am with Sketchabilities. BUT the good news... I am invited back to be on another term. I am so happy!! Who doesn't love to work with Karan's sketches :) Thanks Karan for the opportunity again!!

So for the final sketch of my last term as Team D, we were given a very fun sketch (as always) & here is my interpretation. Hope you like it :)

Well, I never like cats or basically pets in my life until I have Tuffie and Tobes. They changed my perspective of having a pet. I am glad they did because I love them to death!! They are my fur-babies. God given us not only one but two special fur-babies & we are so grateful for that!

For this sketch, I decided to use Tuffie's photos and I love how it turned out. It works really well with the new Sassafrass Lass collection called Cherry Delicious. Everything on that collection is so so yummo!! The best part I created this layout only by using two patterned papers called "Sweetly Subtle" & "Winsome". The rest I used Glimmer Mist (a must), AC Thickers (love the new ones), a doily & dymo label. Easy recipe huh?

Close-up shots:

Heart the butterfly!

My baby is so cute, huh?

Well, I have to hit the sack early today because my blood pressure is rising high. Without proper sleep for the past 3 days, this is what I will get ... sigh. Hope you have a good night rest to my Asian friends & good morning to my Western friends :)

Dedicated to My Bestie

I made this layout like... last January but I forgot to post it up here. Hehe. I used one of the sketch created by the talented Becky Fleck @ Pagemaps. If you haven't check out her skecthes, you should swing by. Lots of inspiration :)

Me & my bestie, Wati Basri. She is one crazy-talented scrapper & friend who lives in Singapore. So we are not too far actually. She came to KL to conduct a mini album workshop yesterday and it was a successful one. I am so happy for her!! Wati, Chris and Adam came to visit us last December 2009. They were here for about 10 days. So these shots were taken on 2010 New Year's Day and I loved them so much. We seriously had tons of fun together! We always do... no matter what situation!

Boy, I am glad I met this fun-packed girl!! Those words are true from the heart... Wati babe :)

You gotta love Ms.Martha's butterfly punches :)

I will never leave my layout flat, gotta create dimension!

I seriously love the Amy Butler's papers! They are so beautifully designed. Always love the combination of pink & green :)

Wati & I met in a scrapbooking forum 2 years ago and low and behold, she is my bestie! Just wondering, do you have any scrapbooker friend turn bestie that you met through the scrapbooking world? I'd love to know. Thanks for popping by!!

Canvas Swap

Those who attended Aida's class last Dec 2009 decided to have a canvas swap. We drew name and I got Michelle's name. I finally got to pass my canvas to Michelle last month. I love this quote alot and decided to use it on the canvas. I enjoyed the process of misting, painting with crackle paint and masking as well.

Seriously thought this hard before I began. I wanted to have a story behind the whole process of creating this canvas instead of a random one. I created a dark looking background that represents when we are down- low esteem - or simply we have no mojo. Then, I used brighter alphabet for the words to encourage our inner being that "good thing imaginable is possible". The quote is so appropriate to lift our spirit up anytime of the day! Don't you think so? Sometimes just a little thought, will make our crafty piece looks interesting!

Ok time to hit the sack. I can't wait to meet my students again :)
p.s: I heart those butterflies by Ms Martha Stewart...

Singapore Trip!

As promised, here are the updates and photos from our latest trip to Singapore. The reason we went down to Singapore was for Adam's birthday and also to meet a scrapper friend. You'll know who as you scroll down. Guess what... this was an eating trip. Phew!

On last Wednesday, after we dropped Tuffie & Tobes - we left our house at 6.30pm. It always break my heart to see my fur-kids are being sent for boarding. It took us around 3.5 hours from our place to reach Chris & Wati's house. We were welcomed with a new status. We are Adam's official God-parents. Such an honor!! Besides that we were welcome with a BIG packet of yummy nasi lemak for supper. We chit-chatted and finally slept near to 2am. The next morning, we had Mc'Donalds for breakfast.

After the breakfast, we went to have lunch. Love this shot of all of us in the car :)
We were glad that G11 was handy during the trip.

Adam decided to have his Mc'D hotcake in the restaurant.

All of us had yummy Singapore Curry Laksa and Rojak. Rojak is very similar to fruit salad but it is mixed with thick sticky paste sprinkled with fine peanuts.

After lunch, we headed to Paper Market at Raffles City. Well, the boys had fun at the fountain. Love this shot of Adam and his Godpa :)

Of course, Wati and I had a nice shot too after the shopping at Paper Market :)

Immediately we headed to our break time. This time we ate "Sup Tulang". This is similar to ox tail's soup except this is mutton. That is one of the local delicacy.

The next day, after we had french toast in the morning. Chris & Wati brought us for lunch at "Gandhi Restaurant" at Little India. This restaurant served banana leaf rice. We managed to arrive early because during lunch time the place is super packed with customers.

Adam was hungry so Wati had to feed him first.

Not long after, Sasha Farina, Syam, Nidhi & Neha arrived!
Sasha was concentrating really hard chatting with Chris while having a glass of tea.

I am so glad that I have finally met Sasha in person. She is the sweetest lady & of course a very hot mama. Hehe :) Love ya girl!!

Adam was so shy taking picture with Nidhi. That girl is ever ready to pose for the camera. So cute!! I managed to visit Made With Love, Spotlight and Laine's store too :) Thanks Sasha for accompanying me along to MWL. Happy woman!!

Next, we drove up to Ang Mo Kio to collect Adam's birthday cake. Managed to snap another pic of them together. They always wear the same colored tee coincidentally. LOL!!

We were headed home and our car was being knocked at the expressway. There were 4 cars involved and we were the second car from the front, so we were "sandwiched"! It wasn't our fault at all. The other three cars were Singaporean. Anyway, thank God no one was injured except Adam got a bleeding lip and a scratch on his left cheek. Poor boy!

We managed to sing a birthday song for our little Adam before headed to the Police Station for a report. Well it was an unfortunate event but I believe everything happened for a reason. Just that we will not have a car for a month plus. We were thankful that we the engine was not harmed and we drove the car back to Malaysia safely. It's now in the Honda workshop. We were shocked with the repair cost but we have car insurance. Thankful that we managed to borrow Eric's bro's car for the time being! Phew!!

Above all, we are glad that we went to Singapore to meet Chris, Wati, Adam, Sasha and her family. Everybody is so nice and warm. We can't wait to see them again. Prob towards year end? Hehe. Meeting and eating was the highlight of the trip :) Once again, thanks CWA for your warm hospitality :) We love you guys so much from the bottom of our hearts!! In fact I am seeing Wati this coming Saturday. She is coming to teach a workshop at Papier Love. Hope to visit other Singaporean scrappers in future!!

That's all for today. I need to start playing with my papers, assignment to hand in before the week ends. Thank you for coming by again :)

Just passing time...

Well, I was a little bored after dinner... so to pass time - "before my bed time", I created a simple layout. Oh trust me... it doesn't work all the time. The recipe is seriously simple... basically just papers, buttons, blings & mists *wink*

Guess what Mr Handsome told me when I asked him for opinion. He said, "This is pretty different... unusual from your usual style... but I love it. You still have mists on it!". LOL!! I was glad that he loved it.

Heart that butterfly punch by Ms. Martha Stewart :)

My all time fav flower by Prima.

It all started when I stared at the American Crafts Letterbox paper I got. It was full of colorful & fun brackets. Next thing I know, I started to cut the brackets out and start to arrange on my favorite kraft cardstock. Took out my mists and just sprayed every direction on the 12x12. The placement was random but it worked for me... hehe :)

Will be back soon with Singapore trip update, so hang on ya :) Nitey nite!

Toot Toot Again!!

Guess what... I am on my way to Singapore now. Woo hoo!! Mr Handsome and I decided to drive down to Singapore this short holiday to visit our besties - Chris, Wati & lil Adam. Oh yeah, Nenek too (Wati's mum)! So this is a scheduled post.

And I would also like to thank everyone who participated in the RAK. I was shocked to see 42 comments on this post. Never expected so many to swing by :) You ladies are so kind to drop by to comment!! Ms. Helen Tilbury, remember to email me your postal address so I can send you the RAK :)

Tell you something... for some reason I love to sleep in the car. At home, I usually sleep for 6-7 hours but in the car I fall asleep fast & pretty sound asleep. I don't usually get that at home unless I am dead tired. Light sleeper for sure! Wati told me that I am like a child who enjoys sleeping in the car. Guess what... she is one too!! LOL. She can fall asleep pretty fast in the car/taxi/subway/airplane. LOL!! Gosh I missed our last trip up to Cameron. We gonna have another vacation together soon in June!! Can't wait.

Ok, I am supposed to share with you my toot in Scrapbook Trends Mini Album mag!! I was super duper happy when two of my mini albums were requested to be pubbed. Here are the pics :)

I'll be back on Saturday cause we're having guests over.
Can't wait to meet my Penang friends again :)

Sketchabilities Sketch # 12

Wow, how time flies and we are in the middle of March already!! And that means another reveal day for Sketchabilities. This sketch will be the last sketch for Team C but I joined in to play along too. You guys know how much I heart Karan's sketches. All along, I only scrap mostly using one photo or the most 3 photos. But with her sketches, I came out from the box and scrapped like 5 or 9 photos in the layout. I am a BIG fan of multi-photos layout now!! All thanks to Karan & her out-of-the-world sketches!

Just love playing with Cottage collection by Crate Paper. I just got the Prima film tape and I love it so much. Love the old-school film look... for sure!! The only thing that I seldom use on my layouts are rub-ons but this time I attempted three. Amazing!

Yupz... love is so pretty!!

Ok, I got to sign off now. Going to watch "So You Think You Can Dance". Will be back to check on your love for me. Thanks for peeking!

Oh one last thing, here's a pic of my fur-babies sleeping underneath the table. They love to "accompany" me when I scrap or whenever I am at the craft room :) So adorable!! Somehow Tuffie (left) knows he has to go with the pink seat and Tobes (white) will go on the white seat. My cats are very unpredictable... LOL!!

Oh Lizzy... seriously you rock!!

OMG!! Lizzy left me a comment on my previous post, how cool!! Yes, the real Lizzy! LOL. I just scrapped another layout using Dear Lizzy collection. Mr.Handsome and I had our outdoor wedding photoshoot at the park called Titiwangsa 4 years ago. I thought it would be cool to use Lizzy's products for a spring wedding theme though Malaysia does not have spring weather. LOL!! I love the result.

I combined the stickers and the 3d dimensional stickers.

Seriously {heart} these banners to bits!! I gave a little dimension to the banners by using foam dots alternately.

The rub-ons rock and love that new AC Thickers.

Added some tiny pearls as necklace onto the chipboard dress.
I enjoyed using the badges... seriously!

Loving all those tiny pearls on the "Humble Honeybee" paper.

Who would ever thought of chipboard fence... only Lizzy!

Ok, got to grab dinner now!! Also watch American Idol later... unfortunately the repeat one cause I missed it while doing this layout. Couldn't afford to pause... LOL!! Btw, who's your fav AI contestant?

Dear Lizzy, You Rock!!

I {heart} this collection so much!! The colors are pretty pastel & it is pretty fun to play with too. I got this beautiful collection as my assignment for Papier Love. I really had fun. As promised... gonna show you what I did :)

Here are the layouts :

We were seriously crazy trio on that day!! We had so much fun fooling in front of the camera. Such precious moment!! That's my lil sister, Joanne in the middle and our friend, Nadia. I had fun cutting up the circles too, told ya it's pretty fun, you better go grab some and play *wink*

Love the AC thickers to bits!! I can't live without them. They brighten up my titles :)

A layout I made for me-self. To remind me to "Follow My Bliss" & just do whatever I like. Created this layout using Creative Scrappers Sketch # 92. I applied gesso on the "Swallowtail Social" paper to make it a little subtle. Heart the vintage lace & music sheet (I know I am a broken record BUT I can't help it!!)

Ms. Lizzy is brilliant, love the idea of filling up the word spaces with colors on her rub-ons!

Don't you just love that little birdy?? Cute! Gonna love those dimensional stickers.

One of the prettiest rose pattern I have ever seen. Here I cut the roses out from the paper and combined it with the dimensional sticker, which is the light pink.

Ok, got to go now!! Will show you more when I got to play again. Need to be up early tomorrow. Nite nite my blogger-friends :)
