A Layout & A Card

FYI!! I am still running my "FUN GIVEAWAY". So click HERE if you want to play along :)

Hello peeps!! I am back to show you a layout and a card I created for my
DT assignment over at Papier Love.

I {heart} the American Crafts - Heat Wave papers because of the sunny and cheery colors. Perfect for beach themed :) We just got back from Redang Island not long ago so these papers came in just in time ... PERFECT!! BTW, I created the layout using Design Dollies sketch :)

Close-up shots:

I also used Core'dinations cardstock as my background. What I did was I folded it into 6 parts and ran thru it with a Big Shot. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder called Swiss Dots. I sanded the cardstock to get the red to appear. You can do lots of different techniques on this piece of Core'dinations - tear, sand, emboss and of course love it (got this from the Core'dinations site... LOL) !!

I wanted to create a sandy look to my layout, I painted the edges with crackle paint and also I stamped the background using bubble wrap (my fav)!

Below is a card I created using Core'dination cardstock and also tiny bits of Bella Blvd Paper & also American Crafts - Heat Wave paper. To add fun, I misted a doily to get the negative and it looked pretty :)

Hope that you like the creations!
Alrighty I need to continue to scrap, see you ladies around. Hugs!

Happy Father's Day!

Hello peeps!! I am still running my "FUN GIVEAWAY". So click HERE if you want to play along :)

Just thought before going to church, would love to share with you what I have created for Father's Day. I used a photo of my Papa and my cutie nephew, Contanstine. Just a simple layout :)

Scrappy info you might want to know how I created the layout below:

Materials used:
Billboards Man of The House Collection Paper by Bella Blvd
Bits of Bella Man of The House Paper by Bella Blvd
Distinguished Man of The House Paper by Bella Blvd
Gesso / White acrylic paint
Bubble Wrap
Corrugated Board
Maya Road sheer tag
American Crafts Vinyl Thickers
Ranger Distress Ink
Ranger blending tool
Glue Tape
Pop/Foam dots

1. Firstly, paint the bubble wrap with gesso and randomly stamp all over the background Distinguished paper and also some on the Billboards paper. Leave it to dry.

2. Once the paint is dry, you can create a subtle look on the white by applying Ranger Distress Ink. Use a blending tool to blend.

3. Once done, distress the corrugated board with Ranger Distress Ink. And stick it under the Billboards paper.

4. When you have already pasted the corrugated board and billboards paper down, cut strip words from the Bits of Bella paper and arrange them on the Maya Road sheer tag. You can create dimension to the strip words by using pop dots in alternate order.

5. Instead of arranging the alpha flat to the paper, you can slightly stack them up on each other to create an interesting look and of course to create a little dimension.

6. Lastly, decorate the layout with little bits of pieces that you can cut from Bits of Bella paper.

Yup that explains how I created my layout! Well, you can always create this layout for other occasions for the man in your life :) So, Happy Father's Day to my beloved Papa Chris, my father-in-law & all the fathers (and future fathers) out there!!

Sketchabilities Sketch # 18

It's time to reveal Sketchabilities # 18!! It's always fun to play around with the sketches created by Karan. She is uber-talented... seriously! I love her tagline at the blog header... "express yourself with a sketch." How cool! Do hope over there to see what the other DTs created for this week & do "express" along :)

I created this layout using all the SCRAPS in my stashbox... seriously!! Except for the MM background paper, the flowers & the stickers. I had fun digging them out and use all the tiny pieces. Felt really good though. Got to do something before my box start to explode. LOL! :)

It's a HUGE blessing knowing Chris, Wati & Adam. They are special to us and we are forever grateful for having them in our lives!

I had so much fun teaching the little kiddies in the craft class today and can't wait to see them tomorrow for another session. Gonna keep this short and sweet for now. See ya soon...

Redang Island Updates!

BEWARE : Super Long Updates!!

Hey peeps!! We are finally back from Redang Island. It was such a beautiful vacation I had with Mr.Handsome and of course with my bestie's family! The sand was so powdery and the beach was so crystal clear! We were at paradise for 4 days!! Berjaya Redang Resort is the best resort at Redang Island and our seaview room was amazing! Well with all my exclamation marks at the end of every sentence tells you something bout the beach :) After-all what is a vacation without photos, rite?

Here are some of the pictures:

That's our ride, Berjaya Air airplane.

I managed to capture some shots in the plane.

Wati was having her blissful moments :)

Moi & Mr Handsome

The advantage of staying at Berjaya Redang Resort is you get to travel in the in-house buggy anytime of the day. Cool huh?

Our beautiful seaview room!

Mr Handsome was testing the bed!!

Beautiful views from our balcony!!

Our first beach self-shot!

On the 9th of June (Mr Handsome's bday) we decided to have buffet for dinner. Chris, Wati and myself decided to surprise Eric at the dinner. He was pretty clueless though lil Adam was cheeky to hint a little here and there!! LOL!
A nice picture before the dinner at our balcony.

After dinner, we went to the longue to chill. We were actually waiting for the band to swing by to sing a bday song for Mr Handsome. Finally they came and sang a very good bday song for him. He was caught off guard and never expected to see a bday cake in an island. LOL! That cake was a courtesy by Berjaya Redang Resort.

Adam and his god-pa. Throughout the whole journey, Adam loves saying this "I lllliiikkkeee..... Uncle Eric!". We counted and he confesses his love for Eric almost 100 times a day! LOL!

The next day, we decided to do a little island hopping to Pasir Panjang. We rode a speed boat over to the other side of the island.

We are in front of this inn called "More More Tea". It was a movie location for Summer Holiday by Sammie Cheng and Ritchie Ren back in 2000. But now it has turned into a souvenir shop.

Happy family! Love this photo. Love that Adam was being squishy!! LOL!

Pasir Panjang's beach was rocky and the sand is not so nice. Basically it was full with locals.
Glad that we stayed in Berjaya Resort.
When we were there, it was raining for two days. We chit-chatted and played cards to past time. But on the last day it was so HOT!! We were glad that we got a little sun-burnt. LOL!

A group photo at our last day!

Overall, this is another awesome vacation with Chris, Wati and Adam. They are awesome travel companion to us and we are looking forward for our next trip again!! Thanks for dropping by and allowing me to share this with all of you :)

Before I sign off, would like to share Mr Handsome's surprise birthday video with you. I only remembered to start recording half-way through the b'day song... :)

Happy and Not So Happy...

I am happy because I got myself a Sizzix Big Shot... finally!! After a year of consideration. Yup, that long! Mr.Handsome is so funny... he calls the dies "small shot". I wonder where he got the idea of calling the dies like that! LOL!!

All thanks to my talented scrapper-friend, Aida Haron for taking time to walk me through the Sizzix products. She is awesome with Sizzix products and you'll be amazed with her creations.

Me & Aida, she is such a cool and gracious woman :) She is also my BIG source of inspiration to me!! I love all her work ALOT!!

I am happy because I also met Laine's co-owner, Sharon Ong. This lady is full of awesome scrappy ideas and you should check her out. She is just brilliant!!

I am ALWAYS happy meeting my "Singapore family", Chris, Wati and Adam!! As always, whenever we meet besides catching up, we will eat & eat & eat *wink*

Ok, let's talk a little bout the not so happy moments :(

Last Friday, while chatting with my friend, Agnes, I smelled something burning in my scrapbook room but never thought of looking up. I was thinking, probably someone is burning something out there. After I hung up the phone, I heard sparks and something tiny flew down, lo and behold, my ceiling light is on fire. I freaked out and immediately call Agnes again. She was trying to calm me down and asked me get out from the house. I tried calling the guards using the intercom and it didn't work. I called the maintenance guy and next I called Mr.Handsome. He was at work. I told him that the ceiling light is on fire and please call the fire department. I opened the gate and minutes after was I glad to see Agnes and her son, Leo. Leo was fast enough to put out the fire with a portable fire-extinguisher. Phew!! He was my hero!!

It was pretty dramatic, the firemen arrived and took some reports. I thank God that I was unhurt and I have a wonderful neighbor who willingly came to rescue the scrapbook room. Fortunately, my scrapbook supplies are not burned!!

Gosh, this is the only florescent light we are using the most at home and it got burnt. It puzzled us a little cause florescent lights are safe to use for very long hours. Well, it failed us after 3 years of using it.

Every night, we are afraid to sleep. Thinking of what's next cause a ceiling light can cause such effect. It's pretty scary thinking bout it... seriously! Thank goodness I was at home at that very moment or else I will not sit here so soon to blog about it. Glad that is over now. Above all, I thank God for protecting me from this incident! The moral of the story is to have at least one fire-extinguisher at home in case of any fire emergency BUT do pray hard that you do not have to use it at all :) if you got what I mean...

Lastly, I am happy because I am going to Redang Island with my Singapore-family!! Redang Island is one of the top ten beautiful beaches in the world. We are leaving tomorrow morning. All of us need a break after all the stress over the weekend. Will be back to update you with our vacay. Till then, my friends. Have an awesome week!!
