New Blog Challenge & Coming Soon!!

Hello there!! How have you been? Well I am not in a very good state. Out of nowhere, I have this very bad headache, prob caused by my blood pressure. Been thinking very long and hard for my next class project. LOL!!

This evening, I bumped into this very interesting challenge blog called City Crafter. They have very cool challenges each time. They draw inspirations from everything, pictures to sketches. For week 15 challenge it is called the Garden Mail, that is to create a project/card according to this photo. It's a very pretty color combo too - purple & green. The inspiration by the DTs are FAB! To be honest, I seldom scrap these colors and I decided to give it a try :) You should try too, no?

Here's my interpretation:

An Altered Notebook :)

I {heart} that handmade flower alot!!

I will be conducting 2 NEW interesting class in one of our LSS Smidapaper, located at Penang. Thanks Sheila for the opportunity! For more info about these classes, please click HERE!

This is one of them...

Well I was trying to recall some of my layouts that I have not been posted on the blog. I found a couple and today I'd like to share with you a layout I created sometime back using older collection of Jillibean papers. I think it's from one of my Scarlet Lime kit I bought last year. LOL!! Well, I am that kind of scrappers who love to buy papers and not use them immediately. I know a few of my scrapper friends that are eager to start a project with what the purchased the next day! I am just not that kind, not sure why though. LOL!! I also noticed that sometimes I will hunt for older collection. Weird huh? Haha. That's me for you *wink*

Close-up shots:

At times, I love to use Dymo Labelmaker for my journaling.
Love the embossed words!

Folded the flowers in to give a dimensional look.

Here I create more dimension to the layout by pleating the papers.

Hope you are having a good day at your end!
As for myself, more assignments to rush. LOL!

A layout & A Card

Wow, it has been sometime I did a series of a layout and a card post! So I am back to show you what I did for Papier Love's DT assignment. This time I played with Basic Grey Nook & Pantry collection that has been added into the store recently. Love the bold colors and they do look a little retro to me, no? :)

A lil' scrappy info:

Instead of using alpha stickers, I doodled the word family from a scrap kraft cardstock with American Crafts felt tip marker. Cut it and used it as a title!

If you know me well, you will notice that I love to cut. My favourite pair of Cutterbee scissors has been my companion from the first day I scrap! At the edges of these flowers I folded to give a natural look to it :)

Banners are very much the "in" thing till today. I top them up with sewing to give a very fun look to it!

These days, I love using my EK Success border & Martha Stewart butterfly punch to add more details to the layout!

Next, I created a card using the same Basic Grey Nook & Pantry collection. This card is pretty suitable for a fruit lover. LOL! Hence I titled it "Happy B'day Fruitie" instead of "Happy Birthday Sweetie" :P

This is a pretty straight-forward card. To add dimension, I cut the fruits out and layer them with foam dots. Also added a red bow to create a balance to the colors. :)

Hope you like the projects and be back soon for other updates! Thank you for dropping by again! Have a Terrific Tuesday!!

I used all the requirements:
Use Bingo Card (Unity Stamp)
Use Tissue Paper (Peach color & white behind the Bingo Card)
Ink It Up (used distress ink)
Sanded Photo (on Bingo Card)
Handmade Flowers (Satin + Tissue flower)

It's gonna be a rush and busy week for me. Assignments to complete, classes to rush and lots of work out too!! Hope you are having an awesome day yourself and thanks for stopping by! Your comments encourage me to create each day!! TQVM :)

Be Yourself Everyday!

This month at Scrap-It-Lah, we are having an altered challenge. I chose to alter an art frame I bought at Daiso not long ago. Yup, that altered frame below is a reminded for myself! To be myself everyday!

So pls check out Scrap-It-Lah and do join us. I am sure you wanna win the yummy October Afternoon RAK. We do accept international submissions & that's a plus!

Scrappy info:
1. Firstly, I painted the dark blue background paper that came with the frame with gesso. To create a subtle look.
2. Then I painted the frame with gesso + crackle paint. Once dried, stamped it with script stamp. Also inked the sides with distress ink.
3. Sprayed the doily with peach delight mist.
4. Next, I arranged the die cuts and once done, I pasted them down.
5. Handmade roll flowers are such pretty addition, no?

Hope you have an awesome Monday!!
Thanks for peeking and do come back tomorrow :)

Sketchabilities Sketch #19

It has been an interesting week for me! Rushing for commissioned work & having my bestie, Wati around was so much fun but it was too short time! How I wish she can stay a little longer :(

Anyways, I am back to tell you that Karan decided to have me for another term at Sketchabilities. Woo Hoo!! Thanks Karan for another opportunity. I love her sketches to bits! So let me show you what I did for Sketchabilities sketch # 19.

I seriously had alot of fun with this layout of my white 'tiger', Tobes! He loves to peek at the door whenever I am in the scrapbook room. One fine day, Eric managed to snap pics of Tobes lying on the floor & peeking us in the room. He is such a cutie, no? I love him to death, he is my baby :)

A little of scrappy info:
I created my own background paper by masking the doily first and then followed by stamping. I used script stamp by Hero Arts and of course glimmer mist - peach delight & lime twist (thanks Aida) colors. Personally I feel a little fussy cutting will give your layout a very interesting layout. Next giving dimension to your fussy cutting is another fun way.

At times, I love using part of the title as my journaling. My title in this layout is "Peek". At the top of "Peek" I added "Tobes always love to... " . So that's another cool way of journaling and titling too... LOL!! Using different fonts in a layout helps to reduce those redundant fonts in your stash. *wink*

Oh yeah, this card was featured last week at the Cards Blog!! Woo hoo!!

Before I sign off, Ms. BabyBokChoy can you pls email me ur house addy? So I can send the "Fun Giveaway RAK" to you :) Do come back tomorrow because I have another assignment to show you!

And the winner of the Fun Giveaway is...

Hi ladies,

It's Mr. Handsome here writing a post :-)
My apologies for this slightly late announcement, had too much to do in the past few days.
My pretty wife asked me if I would pick a lucky winner for this round of giveaway & I am absolutely delighted to do so. But the challenge is... with 41 people to choose from, whom all I don't actually know, it is quite a tough job you know, haha... So, I've come out with a 'fun' way to choose base on the 1st person that asked me to pick her.... so, here you go!

Congrats BabyBokChoy!

And coincidentally, bokchoy (chinese cabbage) also happen to be my favorite vegetable! :-)
Thanks for swinging-by ladies, I wish I could give away some stuff to everyone who left a comment, but I'll see what I can do next time. Have a great weekend ahead!

Mr. Handsome
