For You Card

Do you love giving yourself a little challenge every now and then? For this card, I decided to give myself one. I created this card mostly using Webster's Pages stickers to embellish the card. Of course the papers and the alpha enhanced the card as well. I was really enjoying the process of using almost every single piece of stickers I can get my hands on. It's so simple and the result is pretty. Remember what I told you earlier? "Fall In Love" kit has endless possibilities and wait no longer. Grab one today!

A Layout & A Card

Happy Tuesday!
It's the series of a layout and a card again... finally after such a long hiatus! LOL! Created the below projects for my LSS, Papier Love. Previously, I have shown you some simple "recipe" I have used to create my projects and this round ... this is probably the simplest among all.

I created this layout called "Our Love Blossomz".
All I used was a Bazzill cardstock and an Echo Park patterned paper.

I created my own background by using scrip stamp and Tattered Angels mists.

My all time fav tool is my Cutterbee scissors. I love cutting papers and rearrange the fussy cutting image onto my layout. What I love to do next is to give the image some dimension by using glue dots/foam dots.

{Heart} all my American Crafts Thickers. Lovely treatment to my title!!
Punches like Martha Stewart butterfly is awesome addition to this flowery layout.

The balance of the Echo Park patterned paper I decided to create a card.
Using the same formula: cut and 3D.

See the "life is good" quote? That is the Echo Park's collection name. I cut it out at the edge of the patterned paper. I thought that is a great title for my card especially with the cheery colors. Don't you think so?

This time we have Mellissa Mann as our GDT. She has beautiful style of scrapping :)

This week we got to use our sponsor, Pretty Little Studio's products. Saw those cute tags?
They are perfect to layer on each other or use them for journalling.

Altered Watering Can

Hey hey!! Recently I purchased a tiny watering can and I thought it would be so cool to give it a little treatment. Of course it is a special gift to cheer someone up! And what better way to do it with the "Fall In Love" Oct kit I am left with. Gosh, there are endless possibilities with this kit!

It is pretty simple to alter the watering can. So here's the recipe...

1. First, I punched the Melissa Frances & American Craft patterned papers using 2 edge punches by EK Success. Applied glue all over the papers and sticked them around the can.

2. Sticked the Webster's Pages Lullaby Lane stickers onto the layered patterned papers.
3. Wrapped the spout with the Sweet Pink Crinkled Ribbon.

4. Lastly, I tied the Sweet Pink Crinkled Ribbon at the handle and added a Dear Lizzy fabric button.

I hope you enjoy this simple altered watering can tutorial!!

Pixie "Scrap-Lift" Challenge

Over at the Pixie house, we are having a Scrap-lift challenge!! I decided to scrap-lift Lori's Small Packages but I gave a little twist to it... designed a square-ish box and named it "Shabby Gift Box" :)

Here's the box template. All you need to do is to click to enlarge, save it, open it using your printing software and click print. This will fit A4 paper (8.5"x11"). To save time, you can directly print it onto your patterned paper.

Once you are done, score it and fold it. Ink the edges. Put it aside.

Next, I gathered different paper flowers that I got from the craft store, bundled it and wrapped it with green ribbon. If you have wired ribbon or green tape, that'd definitely save your time.

I applied the 2 corners using the Kokuyo Dotliner. I used the dotliner because it'll be easier for the recipient to open it. You'll know why in the next step.

After measuring the length of the lace, stick it down. I snipped a little hole in the middle (at the opening) so I can poke the bundle of flowers thru the little hole I made in the lace.

Last step, I also added pearl trims to give the shabby-vintage look to my small gift box.
Make sure you don't stick the pearl trims all around the box :)

Voila... here's the completed "Shabby Gift Box"...

I added the brown jute and also a punched butterfly.
Hope you like this very simple tutorial :)

Wanna know what's inside the little box?

A pair of Swarovski Crystal earrings I made. Aren't they lovely?

Wanna know more bout this lovely scrap-lift challenge, pls hop over to the Pixie house today and you can find all the info you need. Do check out the DTs creations too because everyone did an amazing job! You got to check out the challenge prizes too, it's GOOD!! Hope to see your submissions soon *wink*

Materials used:
K&Co (Life's Journey)
Webster's Pages Lace (available in Pixie Oct kit- Fall In Love)
Paper flowers
Pearl Trims
Green Ribbon
Brown Jute
Martha Stewart Butterfly punch

Two Love Birds

Hello crafters!! Today, I'd like to show you a layout that I created for Papier Love (LSS) using simple "recipe" again!!

Quite often, I love to use cheery background paper to accentuate my whole layout.
This layout is pretty easy to assemble. All you need is to do some cutting, get the right embellies and fonts. That's all! Told ya it's simple rite?

Prima vines are lovely to use and it is so easy to play with it. You can bend, twist the vines to suit your arrangement on your layout or projects.

Don't you love that beautiful peacock?
I fussy cut the clock, peacock and the pretty
roses from a Webster's Pages paper.

I am thankful I found my love bird "ancient years" ago!!
Believe it or not, I knew Mr.Handsome since I was 7 years old. LOL!!

Materials used are available at the store:
Echo Park patterned paper
Webster's Pages patterned paper
Prima flower vine
Maya Road White Doily
American Crafts Thickers
Prima pearls

Hope you are doing fine on this beautiful Tuesday :)
Happy Tuesday!!

Friends

Friends are important people in our lives. We need friends in our daily life. They will make us laugh, hear our problems and even care for us for our ups and downs. I am blessed to have such wonderful friends in my life. I do not consider my colleagues as mere colleagues but my friends. I truly enjoy going to work each day and having great friends make my work pleasant each day!

This layout I created using a picture of my working colleagues.
They have been a real blessing to me.

I used the brown rayon seam binding to create a flower by sewing & added fabric brad as the centre.

For the title, I inked the alpha with brown and I applied glossy accent to give a faux puffy paint look.

Die-cuts like Sizzix or Quikutz are perfect to be used for papers that do not have busy background/graphics.

Hope you are all inspired to get yourself a "Fall In Love" Oct kit now and start playing!

Precious

Have you been using your scraps/leftovers lately? Scraps are really fun to use when you just wanna create or intend to create a simple looking layout. For this layout below, I used the Pixie Dust Paperie's "Fall In Love" Oct kit scraps I am left with. Nothing go to waste!

I punched the edges using one of the EK Success punch I have on the pink cardstock and layer it with the grey cardstock. I have also layered all the tiny scraps together to create a clustered-looking frame around the photo.

For the alpha, I first inked it with a pink ink. Once dried, I sprayed red mist on it to create a faux marble looking alpha. Finally I added some glossy accent. In this photo you can't really see the effect but it looks really interesting in real life.

Another great way to use the leftover trims is to layer it together with the scraps.

The "leaves" are from one of the Melissa Frances papers. An awesome idea to enhance the bright flowers and pretty seam binding, aight?

Happy Crafting!

Papier Duty Call

Hey hey!! Every Tuesday at Papier Love's blog (LSS), I will be sharing tips & techniques or tutorials. So do check it out!

Since today is Tuesday, that means it's my turn to show you my-so-called version of "enhance technique". LOL!! A simple tutorial on how I created a layout only using two pieces of Webster's Pages patterned papers + very little embellies that were in my DT kit.

WP salon lesfleurs paper

WP romantique chic paper
and turned it into this...

It's pretty simple how you can enhance a base paper with just using another paper.
I will show you how...

Simple tutorial & some close-up shots:
All you need is to cut the WP Salon Lesfelurs images out and
rearrange the images onto the romantique chic paper that acted as my base.

Adding lace to give a romantic & subtle look!

Prima flowers and crystal swirls are perfect addition for a shabby-chic looking layouts!

Adding glitter to cut images always work for me. I love to enhance the details!

To enhance the chandelier I added some gold pearls.

To further enhance your layout, the next best "enhance" recipe is to create dimension.

Supplies list:
Webster Pages patterned papers
Prima Flowers
Prima Crystal Swirls & pearls
Ranger Stickles
Making Memories stickers

Hope you enjoy the simple "enhance" tutorial!

3 in 1...

Haha... the title sounded like an instant noodle advertisement rite? :P

Last Thursday till Sunday, Cindy came to stay with me and it was a very fun experience! We scrapped together, hunted for vintage ribbons, ate non stop and most importantly we enjoyed each other's company. She is one FUN babe!!

Last Saturday, Cindy also took the opportunity to meet up with Sharm, Eve and Shirl. Of course, before meeting up with the ladies, she had to get some scrapbooking supplies at KL LSS, Papier Love and Scrap-n-Crop. More damage. LOL! Who can resist that! But she was enjoying herself for sure! I tagged along and glad to meet these bunch of talented ladies. We chatted for quite long and of course crafting was part of our convo. Here's a photo of us at The Apartment Restaurant...

Lovely photo taken by the waiter!! Not bad huh? I heart the deco!

I would also like to show you what I did for Mission To Create # 26. The clay buttons were sponsored by My little bit of Whimsy. Aren't they cute as buttons? LOL. This mission we also have Sasha Halloway as our Guest DT and her card is stinkin' cute! Her creativity is endless...seriously!!

Last but not least, this will be my last Sketchabilities #32 layout as I have decided not to continue my term due to personal reasons. I have been with Karan Gerber for the last 3 terms and I had so much fun playing with her sketches. She is seriously one of the most talented sketch artist I have ever known! Her sketches had motivated me in many different ways and I am glad that I found her early of this year :) Thanks Karan for the opportunity and I wish you all the best!

Oh yeah this week we're having our Malaysian scrapbooker, Amelia Khalik as a Guest DT. Do check her out and of course the rest of the DTs creations too!

I am in love with K&CO Life's Journey collection that I had to purchase 2 sets of paper pad!!
I am that crazy for it. LOL!

Close-up shots:

Well, Mr. Handsome is calling me already. Promised him to watch this Chinese drama series I got him when he was under the weather. So it's "wifey" call now. Before I sign off, I would like to congratulate Amelia, Rosa & Sharm for being part of Papier Love's DT!

Thanks for the love and will be visiting yours soon!

Adorable Mini Album

Hi there! I am back again to show you what I have created using the Pixie Dust Paperie Oct kit - Fall in Love. The kit has pretty & sweet-looking papers + embellishemts. Perfect for all sorts of theme, one of it - baby theme. I created this album using my scrapper-friend's photos. Shamu was so kind to loan me her baby photos. Lil' A is such a beautiful child!

Scrappy info:

- I used a Sizzix die to cut out the bracket and assembled them into an album.
- Formed the pink trims by Webster's Pages into a flower base for the little girl.
- The Webster's Pages stickers are perfect for this mini too. They are so easy to use!

Instead of painting on the crown, I inked it with gold ink.

I cut the sides of the flowers using craft knife at the journaling tag to slot the photos and to create a little dimension.

Besides using journalling cards for journalling purposes, you may use them as background for your photos. Be sure to check more and get inspired by the other DTs projects! I am sure you gonna love them :)
