"Hi" Card

Hi hi!! I am still on vacay in a beautiful island called Gili but I have something to show you today. This will be my last project of the year for Papier Love. I created this card to celebrate the new year 2011 by saying "Hi". LOL!

For this card I used only the new Pink Paislee "Sweetness" collection papers. Added the tied twine at the back of the Prima flowers and lastly used American Crafts Puffy Thickers for my title. For the edges, I used brown ink then distress it using the Making Memories distresser. So simple rite? Hope your new year will be filled with happiness and lots of mojo!

Happy New Year 2011!

Happy Destination

I love to travel since young and I had the opportunity to travel with my parents on the ship when I was about a year old. My dad was a Ship Captain back then. I wish I could remember where I have been and experienced but I was too young back then. There are photos of me staying in the ship and I was glad that my parents managed to capture those precious memories.

I am glad that my other half enjoys traveling too. The best part... we even have travel buddies. They introduced us to many beautiful beaches and we fell in love with all the islands we visited since last year. This year, we visited Redang Island last June and we loved that island alot - beautiful sea and powdery white sand.

In this layout, all I did was to enhance the MME Lost & Found paper that acted as my background by adding some interesting details.
1. I used the Prima Journaling card (Pixie Nov Snow Shoe kit) as the photo mat.
2. Cut the doily from the Prima flower packaging.
3. Added the "Destination" card by Tattered Angels.
4. Finally, just embellish the layout with Prima flowers that is in the Dec kit.

See the glittery triangle border? I peeled them out from the bottom of the MME glittered alpha to make them as borders here in this layout. Cool huh?

What do you do with the strip of manufacturer's info at the bottom of each patterned paper? I used them as my journaling strip. Another way to recycle!!

A very simple layout and I hope you will grab a kit for yourself today!!

Goodies from Bloggies

I love that title!! LOL!! Since I went into the blogging world a couple years back, I met alot of blogger friends all around the globe. Some I got to meet them IRL and many we keep in touch by emailing or visiting each others' blogs constantly!

This Christmas, I was so blessed with many goodies from my bloggy friends! They were so thoughtful and gracious!

These set of Crabtree & Evelyn I got it from Macy, owner of LSS called Papier Love. I am blessed to be able to work along with Macy for the past near 2 years. We had alot of fun planning for classes and also to improve the stores in many ways. This is my first DTship with a LSS and the opportunity she has given me all along, I will treasure them for a very long time!

Yummy ribbons and twines & a lovely Christmas card by Annie Ling. This lady is a fun-packed one! LOL!

My close friend, Karen Hughes is into Mary Kay. She is doing biz with very well with these products. Hence, I got these Mary Kay products from her - Lip Mask & Lip Balm :)

An awesome lady boss and a PDP kit club owner, Kirsty Vittetoe spoilt me with a beautiful handmade vintage Christmas card and the new OA paper pad at the background! Loved them to bits!

I was blessed to know this scrapbook store owner, Sheila from Smidapaper. She has one of the most beautiful scrapbook store I have seen so far. She is really good with interior design and I adore her house very much! She knew that I love owl like crazy and she got me one. Eeekkk!! Love those Dear Lizzy yummy laser cut papers and the Jenni Bowlin butterflies are to die for!

Cindy, my Penang bestie always host me around whenever I am at Penang and the best thing - her house is my house in Penang. LOL!! She knows me too well and I almost screamed out loud when I see these items she presented me the yummies!!

Thank you so much ladies for all the yummo Christmas goodies you all got for me! May you be blessed with a beautiful 2011 year ahead!

Alia & Jessy

I'm thankful that my boss, Alia & I have such wonderful relationship. I consider her more of my good friend rather than boss. That way I can speak out or approach her better. She has been the sweetest person I have ever known and that is rare to find a good boss :)

Guess what, our Chief Pixie is another great lady boss! She has pampered her team with awesome choices in her kit and we're grateful for her too! Thanks Kirsty. Hugs!

Another creation using the Dec kit. I made these pretty roses using the Sizzix 3d Roses on yellow cardstock and misted them with the glimmer mist!

I love the Prima alpha (Nov kit) because of its funky lettering!

Don't you love those pink pom-poms? They are so pretty that I couldn't resist to use them in this layout. What better way to express your thoughts in journaling form, something you can look back again and treasure those sweet moments!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2011

Altered Flower Frame

Since the DTs @ Papier are doing altering projects this week for their challenge, I was thinking why not I do one too! I bought this flower wood frame (yes, I am a hoarder!) for a while now and thought I should do something with it.

I traced and covered the frame with the latest Making Memories Christmas Noel collection. For the edges, I distressed with Rangers Tea Dye Distress ink & also used MM distresser.

Embellished it using the Making Memories die-cuts & also used Prima flower as the poinsetta's centre.

For the signage, I also used the MM die-cut snowflake and Dusty Attic's chipboard. I painted the word "together" using the Rangers Crackle Paint called tattered rose.
I really liked how it turned out to be and it is Christmas theme one too. Gonna snap a photo with Mr.Handsome and also my fur-babies soon so I can hang it in my craft room :)

Merry Christmas & have a great New Year!!

Mission To Create # 32

I was struggling on an issue for sometime now and I was glad that last 2 weeks I was reassured by God. I broke down and cried after my close friend whom is a Pastor prayed for me. God reminded me to trust in Him and He will provide! All I have to say is a big YES to God!

When I saw the concepts for MC # 32, I started to pick up my materials to create. While I was digging my stash, the Maya Road label "Promises" caught my eyes and immediately I linked the next work "Hope" that I found in Tim Holtz's tickets. I do hope that this card will continue to remind me of God's promises and that hope & faith I need to have in Him constantly :) Do hop by Mission To Create to check out the DTs creations and most importantly come join us!! You might stand a chance to win a prize sponsored by ScrapNspire.

Here is a lovely piece that I read and felt like sharing with you...

A Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.

Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rearview Mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. Look ahead and move on.

Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

All things in life are temporary. If things are going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If things are going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.

Old friends are gold! New friends are diamonds! If you get a diamond, don't forget the gold! Because to hold a diamond, you will always need a base of gold!

Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!

When God solves your problems, you have faith in His abilities; when God doesn't solve your problems, He has faith in your abilities.

A blind person asked Swami Vivekanand: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!"

When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.

Worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles, it takes away today's peace.

Treasure These Moments

Since I got "addicted" to this hobby called scrapbooking, I have been blessed in many form. One of it is friendship! I met alot of scrapbookers & cardmakers all around the globe. When I started to scrapbook, there were not many Malaysian scrapbookers. Lo & behold, when I got to know one it led me to many more. Last October... Shamu, Cindy, Shirl, Eve & I gathered @ The Apartment and had lunch. It was an awesome experience meeting blogger-friends & we chatted as if we met many years ago. LOL!

This week over at PDP blog, we are having a sketch challenge going on & stand a chance to win a PDP Oct kit. Do visit HERE for more info.

The Dec kit is just so stunning!! Our chief, Kirsty has awesome selections and all the kits in the store can be mixed and matched for your projects - any themes. That is what I loved most about PDP kits!! Here I used the MME as my background. Layered it with Prima Jack & Jill paper, you can get it in the Nov kit. Fussy cut the Prima Analee paper. I love the dramatic colors on this layout!

The prima flowers in the dec kit is so beautiful! Mixture of paper & crochet flowers.
I used the MME brad (nov kit) and also the Prima jewels for the crochet.

You can get the beautiful Prima journaling card that I used as the photo mat in the Nov kit.
So do you have any photos of your blogger-friends? Start scrapping them to treasure those precious moments!

Christmas Card

I created a Christmas card for Papier. My Christmas mood is starting to creep into me day by day. LOL! This week there are no schmancy-fancy techniques. Just simple stamping on the Bazzill Kraft paper that acted as my card base and the rest are merely layering using Making Memories patterned paper & die cuts and also tit bits left from Pink Paislee "Sweetness" collection. And of course light distressing at the edge of the card to create the vintage-y look!

Merry Christmas to you!!

Penang Babes

When I was at Penang, besides visiting my close friends, Paul & Karen Hughes. I have another bunch of Penang babes who took their time and spent a day with me. As usual lots of girly-chatting and eating. I am blessed to have such gracious friends!! Here are another set of photos while I was there ...

At Straits Quay, a new mall at Penang.
That's Yen Nee, Doreen & Stella.

Cindy brought me to this beautiful cafe called Annabelle's & I loved their blooming tea!

I managed to return to Smidapaper to visit the store and Sheila again! Sheila is one gracious woman and love her company. If you ever happen to visit Penang do drop by Smidapaper @ Straits Quay. Awesome-cosy-beautiful store :)

Somehow Cindy & I have some kind of telepathic mind!! We wore the same outfit, same colors. LOL!! Guess great mind thinks alike *wink* Sheila asked if we were on our outing uniform? It was funny!

Cindy is an extremely talented cardmaker and she has so many cards to be published next year. Do look out for her cards in CARDS mag!

During my visit, I managed to go to the Jazz Festival. Thanks to Rae for the tickets. It was an awesome festival and I enjoyed it so much!!

Roger Wang Trio

Rain Sultanov Quartet

Look at the crowd!!

This tuba player rocks!! He is from a band called Pelbo. Pretty neat band! I have never seen someone jammed with the tuba before. The tuba is larger than the player. LOL!!

Karen & I

That's Tommy Emmanuel!! He was the hero of the whole festival. He is a world renown accoustic guitar player! He played so beautifully. My jaw dropped so hard on the ground and I had to pick it up many many times. He is a world-class entertainer! The sad thing, Mr.Handsome couldn't witness them playing IRL. He is a HUGE fan of Jazz & Blues. But as a good wife I queued up to buy their CDs & DVD and I also got Roger Wang & Tommy Emmanuel to sign especially for him! Fair eh?

Oh yeah Mr. Handsome has a band called Ten Thousand Talents. He plays the electric guitar. Do check his band out HERE! You can listen to their self-titled at the page too :) Okie dokie, gotta go. That's all for now!

Penang Butterfly Farm

Last 2 weeks, I was at Penang to visit my close friends - Paul & Karen Hughes. We went to the butterfly park the minute I arrived Penang. LOL! I was amazed that the park is such a beautiful place to just walk around and explore. Their kids, Joel & Rebekah was in awe with all the butterflies & bugs. Here are some pictures I snapped using my Canon G11. This camera is awesome! Love the size... if you know what I mean :)

To start with, you gotta spot a catterpillar!

Amazing kids, Joel and Kaka.

Dwarf Pineapple

We spotted iguana too!

Huge moth!! They are like prob 8" wide?!

Giant milipede. Average they have about 350-400 legs and they are harmless.

Never seen such a pretty duck IRL!

Interesting bug - that's the man-faced bug!

Little gecko peeking out :)

Karen & Moi

After exploring all the bugs, insects and some reptiles, we went to the "Insect Show".

Kaka holding praying mantis.

That's me holding the giant milipede!! Pretty cool eh?

That's me with the cute little iguana called "Sexy". The keeper name her that because its lips similar to Angelina Jolie. I am not making up, I was told. Look at those luscious lips!! LOL!

Be back tomorrow for more photos of my other Penang babes!!
