Go Greeeen... Go!!

I have always love the color green and I grab another opportunity to create a green layout again! And I love the shades of bright green that is in the April "Singin' In The Rain" kit and also in the add-on "Make 'Em Laugh" kit. Besides having my fav color in mind, the phrase "less is more" was playing in my head too. So... here's my interpretation :)

Close-up shots:

In the April kit, I find this Pink Paislee metal banner very interesting. It came with the satay-looking sticks too.

Recalled the Photo Inspiration challenge that I am hosting HERE. The requirement was to have a wrapping element so I did a wrap around the sticks using the red & white twine that is also in the kit. Cute eh?!

Still loving banner as ever! Added pearls for texture :)

Love this Sizzix butterfly which I die-cut. I have been using it very frequently :) What I also love about the April kit is the special edition stickers by Cosmo Cricket created specially for Studio Calico. Not forgotten the cute Crate Paper buttons. Used them all around the layout!

Hope you like what you see here and do come back soon. Till then, have fun scrapping!

Altered Frame

Hi all! It's been a while, I last updated my blog. Been having my asthma off and on, still need the inhaler every night. Of course been resting/having scrappy break. Still coughing like mad!! Cough is not good for me because my BP tends to rise. Now the problem of having scrappy break is good and also not too good at the same time. Let me explain. After a break I always felt that I have to put extra effort to think again. Kinda like a HUGE block in front of me. Sometimes it's hard to get back the mojo. Sigh. Not too sure bout you...

I am glad that I started small by doing an altered frame for a friend's wedding anniversary. Hope she likes it *crossing fingers*. It's also for the Your Scrapbook Stash DT assignment. The collection that I used is by Fancy Pants : Wishful Thinking collection. I have been having a blast with this collection. Love the romantic colors and perfect for all sorts of theme. Remember to check this at the store & use April20 as your 20% discount code for your entire purchase!

That's my co-worker, Nor with her lovely hubby.

Hope you like what you see :) Thanks for taking a peek!

Scrap-It-Lah is still having its second anniversary celebration and do hop over HERE to check out the next DT's 4th challenge. You will stand a chance to win a Studio Calico's kit & you don't want to miss that!

Tobes

Hi peeps! This time I have no photos of scrapbooking projects to share, but I do have here a short videoclip to show you what one of my cats, Tobes, love to do at home with Mr. Handsome. He just couldn't get enough of it each day!

video

When Tobes was still a kitten, during one of the school breaks that I had, he decided to drop in front of me a piece of crunched facial tissue. He then stared at me, but at that point I didn't really know what he wanted. But he kept looking at the tissue & I guessed that he wanted to play fetch-and-catch?! I threw, he ran to fetch it & dropped it in front of me again! And as you guessed, we played on and he was hooked on to it ever since! It's pretty unusual for a cat to like fetch-and-catch, but hey! We have one!

She is all girl...sweet!

Hey creative people! Present to you Your Scrapbook Stash assignment. Seriously I love the Fancy Pants - Wishful Thinking collection that I decided to create another "fast achieved" layout! Hehe.

That cute little girl is Arielle. She's my friend's daughter. A very sweet looking girl. Captured her photos at our church camp early of this month. I just couldn't resist to scrap her photos! Cuteness all the way! Lol.

The layout is pretty simple to assemble with just 3 formulas: Distressing with edge scrapper+ paint dabber, crumpling to your heart's content (lol) and a lil fussy cutting. That's about it!

Close-up shots:

See the yellow-slightly-distress flower? That is an EK Success punch. Love it so much that I needed to slot them in :)

Gonna keep this short and simple! Thanks for peeking in again!

P/s: Use April20 for your shopping over at the YSS store. It works for new, pre-orders and even on discounted items too. What a bargain eh?! :)

Photo Inspiration Challenge @ Scrappin Studio

Last Saturday, our church collected love offering for the people in Japan. I was saddened by what happened to the country. While watching the video, it really moved me to give even more! Yes, pls pray for Japan and the Japanese! We're blessed... truly!

I came across this photo on the net while thinking about Japan. Immediately, I got inspired to create a layout. I love the yellow kimono and what got me inspired was the wrap around the waist - the belt. The colors on the kimono was perfect for the kit too! Hence I got out the SC April kit - Singin' In the Rain out and started to assemble the pieces.

Here's my interpretation:

That's my maternal grandma. We call her Popo. She taught me to be kind-hearted! She always emphasizes that to all her grandchildren and she's one good cook! She can't really cook now but she is still one awesome Popo. Love her! The photo above was taken during Chinese New Year & we had the best time ever!

Close-up shots:

My late-mum loved to write our age at the back of the photo and she definitely reminded me to do the same on this layout :)

That butterfly was die-cut from the Oct Afternoon alpha packaging that was in the kit.

The Challenge:
To create a layout that has a wrapping element.
Use the photo as your inspiration and leave us a post link @ SC Blog HERE with your completed layout.

The challenge will start from: 18 April - 2 May 2011 (12am Malaysian time). A winner will of course get to win RM20 Scrappin Studio Gift Voucher.

Wait no more and start to create!!

Step Up "Spring" Table Deco Card

Yes, I am back with another project! First off, thank you so much for all your care and concern. Felt so loved & blessed by ya'll. I am still unwell. Still on the road to recovery. But I believe I will be alright soon! Of coz those new DT kits I got really help too! Hehe. Nothing can beat those fresh papers and embellies. LOL!

Alrite let's get to business...

Studio Calico's April kit brought by Scrappin Studio is filled with spring papers & elements. I love the cheery colors in the kit too. To me mixing and matching colors are very important!

This time, I wanted to create a step up table deco card (I made that up...lol). I actually love the result! This table deco card reminded me a little like the name tags on the guest table. I did another extra fold for the front. Oh yeah that is my mischievous nephew, Constantine. He is so darn cute!

Close-up shots:

Front Panel: I love the strawberry paper by SC. It looks as if it's being served on a blue-plaid paper plates. Strawberries somehow reminded me of my blogger-friend, Jing Jing. Hehe.

Back Panel : Those American Crafts (trees) paper are one of my fav. Of coz, the Maya Road chippies are just so delightful to use! And the Crate Papers are to die for :)

Simply Delighful

Being sick & yet able to create a layout, I consider that to be simply delightful. Blissful moment. I have been under the weather for a couple of weeks already and I tried to stay positive and strong but my body failed me this morning. Mr. Handsome was not at peace to go to work to see me in that sick condition & decided to bring me to visit our GP. After the visit, I felt much better. I needed rest actually. I was over-working my body, was trying to fight the sickness myself obviously it didn't work that way all the time.

So with my trembling & weak body (one of the medicine contains steroid), I decided to get myself up and started to scrap. Positive thinking helps! I am glad that it turned out pretty well. It was funny to cut, paste and arrange all the embellies with shaking hands. So if you find any error on this layout, please pardon me. LOL! Present to you one of my assignment for Your Scrapbook Stash...

Erica
given me the beautiful Fancy Pants - Wishful Thinking collection. Everything is so pastel and dainty looking and it hurts to cut these papers. Lol. I scrap these photots of myself-
just needed to remind myself how wonderful is being 31. U
sing self-taken photos with my iPhone & Instagram has been contributing alot to my photo editing lately. I just {heart} it!

Close-up shots:

It kinda look like I am wearing a crown, no?!

You can find everything in this layout at the store except for the doily and the Prima Say It In Cystals. I love how Prima included the crochet flowers on the crystal! Swoon...

Do check out YSS Monday Markdown and the pretty things peeking in to the store. We have sketch challenge by Audrey too. So swing by the store HERE and blog HERE!

Acrylic Mini Album

Mr Handsome & I have been longing for a baby for a while now. For some reason, he always wanted a baby girl as our first & we have been prophesied that we will have a baby girl too! It took alot of courage to create an album for our "future" baby girl. Of course during the process of building this album, I can already imagine how beautiful this baby girl will be :) I have HUGE faith in God & He knows what is BEST for us!

For my March assignment, Erica gave me a Maya Road acrylic butterfly album + a set of beautiful Echo Park Springtime collection that were full with pretty & pastel colors. Fitted very well for a girl! So here's a mini album that I created with a baby girl in mind using products given by YSS. For more tips on how I created this album, click HERE :)

Hope you like this acrylic album & thanks for dropping by :)

Hi there everyone! Today I am gonna show you how I assemble my card for Nook Class. This is my first class for the Nook, so pls be kind ya. LOL.

Step 1: Trim 10cm x 30cm card base. Fold it into half & you'll get 10cm x 15cm. Punch the edge with a border punch.

Step 2: You'll need to cut 10cm x 2cm (red) & 10cm x 1.5cm (yellow with scallop edge). Attach the red on the yellow.

Step 3: Paste step 2 on the card base. Start from the end of the edge.

Step 4: Next, paste 10cm x 8cm (yellow) next to step 3.

Step 5: Then, continue to work you way in. Adhere next piece that measure 10cm x 2.5cm (red) & finally the last piece 10cm x 2cm (yellow with scallop edge)

Step 6: To give dimension to the sticker. First, you paste it on a transparency. Cut the outline & adhere foam dots at the back to raise.

Step 7: Paste the sticker at the right bottom corner.

Step 8: Lastly, embellish the card with the yellow trim, die-cut sticker & alphas.

Hope you enjoy this card class! And please do check out the other classes (layouts, sketch, altered item, etc) we have for YOU at the Nook Class HERE! We have them every month, you gonna LOVE it :)
