YSS Layouts *Layouts Overload*

Hey hey! I am back again with another set of layouts I created for Your Scrapbook Stash :) Another "bombarding" session. LOL! For the month of June, I got the 7Gypsies Mykonos collection and also October Afternoon 5 & Dime collection. These collections scream cheery and bold colors... of course I love them to bits. For some reason, I enjoyed scrapping all about layouts this month! It must be the happy and cheery paper that infected and motivated me to do so. Haha. So without further due, let's move on...

Photobucket
First off, I wanted to create a funky and grid looking layout by cutting pieces of squares and work my way up. Here's the result. I love this pic tho it's a wee blurry. That was taken on the night Holland vs. Brazil on the World Cup. It was a FAB match! Glad that Holland won on that match.

June is always the month to celebrate Father's Day and I took the opportunity to create a layout of me and my ever-coolest Papa Chris! Still a papa's girl here *wink*

Of course, I have to scrap pics of me and my bestie, Wati. She has been an amazing bestie and I am proud to call her my "big sis" too! We are glad to be her son's god-parents! What a privilege. Don't we look cute with glasses? Hehe :)

Here's a layout of me and my awesome colly, Farah. She has been a faithful colly and friend. We have an awesome working relationship and I am glad that we click so well working together. She used to be my asst when I was teaching the K1 last year but now she has been promoted to teach the K1 and I am teaching K2 this year. Yet our relationship & friendship remains the same. How blessed!

Happy Dad's Day Card

Last Saturday was Father's day and I was glad I managed to create one for my papa. My papa has been the most awesome dad I ever wish for! He taught me alot of values and life experiences that I will cherish for a long time.

Photobucket
This card is pretty simple to assemble. I will share with you the step-by-step:

1. First, cut the patterned paper, tie the seam binding around it and stick to the cardstock. Tip: The seam binding was dyed with Smooch Spritz - Caramel Latte.

2. Punch using the border punch on a patterned paper.
Tip: I edge all the papers using Cleasnap Ink.

3. Cut the punched border into half. Along with a strip of paper stick it on the patterned paper.

4. Open the nozzle of the Smooch Spritz and do some "smooch" dripping. You can see how I do it HERE.

5. Next, punch the circle and scallop circle on a patterned paper. Before adhering them, you might want to stamp/write the sentiment first. The circle will be on top of the scallop.

6. Finally embellish the card with buttons, jute and a vintage jewel brad :)

Photobucket
Hope you like the card and at the mean time do check out Donna Salazar collection HERE. You gonna love all her collections ... trust me on this *wink*

Products used:
Martha Stewart & EK Success Punches
Maya Road wooden buttons
Papertrey Ink Jute
Hampton Alphabet Stamp
Seam Binding
Vintage Jewel Brad

Birthday Frame + Card

Hey there! I would like to share with you what I created for my birthday colleague. Of course using the awesome Studio Calico, June "Paper Moon" kit + "Space Cowboy" add-on kit.

Photobucket
I purposely muted the colors on the photo so I can create a colorful frame for my dear colly.

Photobucket
These handmade flowers are so simple to create. All you need is Sizzix flower die-cut (or you can hand-cut them with scissors), scrunch them and layer!

Photobucket
The chipboard 'smile' was from April's add-on kit. All I did was painted it and drew lines.

Photobucket
Handmade birthday card is an awesome way to keep those memories for a long time. Something you can cherish for a long time :) Here, I created a matching b'day card to go along with the frame. Don't you just love the doggie stamp?!

Hope you enjoy today's post and do check out for more from the other FAB DTs! Oh yeah, if you haven't check out the sneak peak July kits, pls click HERE. Everything is so irresistible!! Look at the website header that has the slide presentation ... remember to look carefully *wink*

YSS Scrappy Tips

Photobucket
Hey creative people! Let me share with you simple scrappy tips on how I created the above layout For YSS using FAB products ie: Jillibean (Dutch Mustard Soup) & Maya Road chippies (Green Thumb) that you can get at the YSS store. They went well perfectly. I decided to create a garden theme around the layout but using a non-themed photo. Interesting rite?

Photobucket
I started of with painting the MR chipboards. Painted them using the Jenni Bowlin Paint dabbers & also ink. It is so easy to just dab as they absorb pretty well. Of course, they are less messy too that way!

Photobucket
Chipboards are awesome to use as layering on your projects. It gives a very interesting dimension.

Photobucket
I always love to journal on my layouts. Journaling does not have to be long all the time but something you can look back & just smile someday :)

Photobucket
Ok, those line of dots are created by using tracing wheel. I emphasized those lines by using ink and a blending tool. Just to give a more define line. Lastly I just drip some mist around the layout by opening the mist nozzle and tap at the top. Yup, that's about it!

Hope these tips will spark ideas in you now. Been a long day at work and it is pretty tiring to work for about 10 hours almost everyday due to shortage of staffs at workplace... to be specific at the daycare centre. But I am glad that I still can connect with you awesome people thru this blog. Do come back soon cause I have projects & good news to share with you for the next couple of days. Till then, Happy Scrapping :)

Challenge Me Happy - Challenge #1

Hey again!! On the 15th of June, it was CMH's first challenge. The DTs were given an awesome photo inspiration. We had to translate it onto our projects. I chose to create a layout :) The rest of the DTs did amazing with the photo... very breathtaking indeed!

Here is what I have created...
Photobucket
For some reason, these days I really enjoy playing with shapes. This time, I got to play with square and rectangular shapes. Of course, these shapes were inspired by the door & windows. The stamped white frame was an inspiration from the white door & windows frame in the photo too. Annelie picked the right photo I must say!

Photobucket
The bicycle, of course was also inspired by the photo too!!

Photobucket

Photobucket
The jute was inspired by the black wires hanging all around in the photo too!

So many awesome inspirations just from a piece of photo. Amazing huh? Come play along with us because this month Magistical Memories is the sponsor for this month :) Hope to see your creations soon. Till then, take care!

Altered Hair Clip

I got Maya Road Zipper Trim for Your Scrapbook Stash May's DT kit and I wanted to make something fun out of it. And I thought of hair clip...how fun!

Here's how I created the flower out of the zip...
Photobucket
First separate the zipper, so you will get only one side of it. For the zipper flower I created, the length was 12".

'Photobucket
Then, just sew "slip-stitch" until till the end.

Photobucket
Once you get to the end, do not end your knot but to slowly pull the thread so the thread will gather.

Photobucket
Once you are happy with it, sew a knot at the end and cut off the excess of the thread. Next, all you have to do is to roll the zipper. As you go along, remember to adhere fabric glue/hot glue to secure it.

Photobucket
Sew a Maya Road Wooden Button at the top and voila... here's your zipper flower :)

Photobucket

Adhere the zipper flower onto the hair clip and you are good to use it!
Hope you will try this zipper flower. This is perfect for layout, card and of your altered projects! Have fun trying :)
